Alford (Al) Crook is Head of Human Resources Business Partners for Zurich North America. In this role, he leads ongoing strategic HR consultation and program delivery to Zurich’s business and shared services units. He was named to this position in 2014. Crook has more than 24 years of HR leadership and business experience at top national and global companies. Prior to joining Zurich, he worked for 22 years at HSBC Bank, one of the largest international banks in the world, as Vice President, Risk and Compliance Human Resources. While at HSBC, he supported almost every business and function, including nearly five years as Head of Human Resources for North American Insurance and Taxpayer Financial Services. Crook is a board member of Special Leisure Services Foundation and a member of DePaul University’s Finance Advisory Board, where he also provides a scholarship for academically accomplished and deserving first-generation students. Crook has a MBA degree from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science degree in management from Northern Illinois University. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard from 1988 to 1994, and received his Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation in 2002.
