Kateland Beals is the Manager for IBM Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs. She leads, promotes, and implements the company’s portfolio of citizenship programs throughout Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin in the areas of education, health, and resilient communities. Kateland has also served as the Education Program Manager for Sarah E Goode STEM Academy, IBM’s P-TECH school in Chicago, promoting and developing workplace readiness skills for students pursuing a dual high school diploma and associate degree.
Kateland is a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky, majoring in chemistry with a minor in Spanish. Before coming to IBM, Kateland taught high school science (chemistry, biology, robotics, genetics, and physical science) for 6 years. She is passionate about STEM education, particularly empowering women to enter STEM professions.
