Kevin E. Houchin, ESQ. is Principal Strategist for Workforce readiness at ACT. Kevin’s diverse background includes experience as an entrepreneur, author, creative business attorney, artist, designer, husband, father and distinguished creative spirit. Kevin is ACT’s market segment expert, strategist, and spokesperson for workforce readiness. He engages with a variety of external partners, organizations, and thought leaders to advance ACT’s position as the leader in workforce readiness and develops key relationships with national organizations develop and implement workforce readiness strategies.
Kevin has a BFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State University (’90) and received his J.D. from The University of Iowa College of Law in 2003. He is licensed to practice in Iowa and Colorado. Kevin’s innovative approach to business development has received national attention including the American Bar Association’s “Legal Rebel” designation for thought leadership in 2010. He is the author of two books on the subject of applied legal ethics and balanced career success for law students and practicing attorneys, and his e-book The No-Plan Plan: A Fabulously Freeing Approach to Strategy, Creativity, Innovation, Business, and Leadership is challenging leaders to examine our cultural addiction to the false security of planning in business and personal contexts.
Kevin’s entire career has been an unfolding path toward helping people align who they are on the inside with what they do for a living-a natural fit with ACT’s mission of helping people achieve education and workplace success.
A native Iowan, Kevin lives with his wife and their three children in the mountains west of Fort Collins, Colorado.
