Laura Roberts joined The Rockefeller Foundation in 2015. As a Program Associate, Laura helps to manage the Foundation’s U.S. Youth Employment Initiative, as well as the Foundation’s work around Inclusive Economies, one of its dual goals.
Prior to joining The Rockefeller Foundation, Ms. Roberts worked as a Program Manager at Girl Rising, a global organization that utilizes media and storytelling to change norms and behaviors around girls’ education. Before her time at Girl Rising, Ms. Roberts consulted for a foundation in Rwanda dedicated to serving young genocide survivors and victims of related sexual violence. Ms. Roberts also worked with a homelessness organization in London to pilot collaborative efforts in resource-sharing as a means to improving service delivery. Ms. Roberts currently serves on the board of a local political group in New York, Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century (DL21C), and is acting Chair of their Women’s Issues Committee.
Ms. Roberts earned her Master’s degree in International Development from NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She received her B.A. from New York University, where she majored in Comparative Politics.
