Luis Maes

Senior Manager

Mr. Luis Alfredo Maes is a Senior Manager at the Walmart Foundation where he manages workforce programs aimed at improving employment and advancement opportunities within the retail sector in the U.S. and abroad. Before joining Walmart, Mr. Maes was a Foreign Service Officer with the United States Agency for International Development, leading multimillion dollar social impact projects in Mexico and Peru. Mr. Maes also previously worked in the government relations and democracy strengthening fields and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic. Mr. Maes holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Virginia, a Master’s of Education degree from Harvard University and a Master’s of Public Policy degree from Duke University. Mr. Maes is an avid ACC basketball fan and the proud husband of Margaret Maes and father to Santiago and Camila Maes.
