Hub Learning Session: Inspiration: Closing the Achievement Gap

Poverty presents significant barriers to persistence and completion of education and training programs. Often, the response is to modify such programs in ways that reduce their efficacy and lower expectations. The result is that people living with the trauma of poverty have more limited options and fewer opportunities to navigate to a sustainable wage and fulfilling career. In our HUB 2 learning session, we will hear from two innovative programs that have taken a dramatically different approach, and in the process, have eliminated achievement gaps across their student populations. Representatives from CUNY ASAP, winner of the 2020 Innovations in AmericanGovernance Award from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and Georgia State University, a world-renowned leader in persistence in higher education will explore the secrets to their success. Please join us on (Tentative) February 11 from Time TBD!
