David Troutman
Biography
David R. Troutman, PhD, is the Associate Vice Chancellor for Institutional Research and Advanced Analytics for the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis at the University of Texas System. He provides leadership in rethinking the systems and processes used to gather data and to distill it into information that decision-makers can use in effective and efficient ways. He conducts system-wide research studies (quantitative and qualitative) in support of UT System strategic goals. Dr. Troutman directs a team of researchers who provide analytical support (descriptive and predictive analyses) for the System’s internal and external stakeholders. He has collaborated with federal and state agencies to examine the use of UI wage records to examine post-collegiate outcomes. Dr. Troutman’s work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, as well as the journals of New Directions in Institutional Research and The Journal of Higher Education. He earned his PhD in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
