With over 25 years of industry experience, Gracie Vega currently serves as the Director of Human Resources sitting on the Executive Committee at Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center located in Grapevine, Texas. In her role, Gracie oversees the property’s recruiting, staff training, benefits, employee relations, and internal communications & events for the award-winning property, which is the third largest non-gaming hotel in the United States boasting 1,814 rooms, 490,000 square feet of meeting space, a 10-acre outdoor waterpark, a lakeside nightclub, a 25,000-square-foot spa, and multiple restaurant venues.
Gracie is extremely passionate about caring for the needs of the resort’s 1,600 STAR employees, cultivating a strong company culture based around heart-centered leadership, respect, and integrity with a strong focus on recruitment and retention, employee relations, legal compliance, and change management. The employee engagement level is highlighted with the recognition of being named the #1 Best Place to Work by the Dallas Business Journal in 2016 and 2017.
Gracie is extremely passionate about Marriott’s Diversity Initiatives. She took the lead in rolling out the International J1 student program to the Texas Oklahoma market. An initiative that brings 250 International students to Gaylord Texan on a yearly basis. Another major initiative was the veteran’s project, helping the resort be selected as the designated property in the DFW market to support veterans in transitioning back to civilian life. Her efforts in creating and supporting diversity recently earned Gaylord Texan the 2017 Global Diversity Excellence Award within the entire Marriott Hotels brand.
During Marriott’s recent integration of Starwood Hotels, Gracie was named the Change Champion in the DFW market for her efforts in helping make the merger seamless for the new workforce. In 2017, the resort was named Hotel of the Year by the Hotel Association of Tarrant County in which Gracie serves as a member of the board. Also in 2017, Gracie was recognized by Marriott International as the Award of Excellence recipient for Human Resources Leader of the Year in the Western Region.
In addition to her responsibilities at Gaylord Texan, Gracie represents the resort as an active leader in several other community organizations including:

Outside of the office, Gracie is a devoted mother to her son and enjoys running, volunteering, and traveling.
