Biography

Heather Buskirk, M.A. is the Instructional Methods Advisor for Career Readiness Education at K12 and a national board-certified teacher. Prior to joining K12, Heather was a high-school physics teacher and instructional coach where spent years exploring project based learning first in her own classroom and then as a coach and facilitator for professional learning. She was an integral part of designing and teaching at HFM PTECH, a project-based and career focused, early college high school in upstate New York.  In her work, she champions teachers as agents of educational improvement and providing access to high quality educational experiences for all students.  She currently serves on the Professional Standards and Practices Board of Teaching for the New York State Department of Education. She earned a B.A. in astronomy and physics and her M.A. in teaching with a physics certification from the University of Virginia.
