Russell Krumnow is the Director of Working Up, the economic mobility project at Convergence, which convenes diverse stakeholders in a dialogue-to-action process to find solutions to tough problems. This cross-sector group has identified a set of public policy and private sector ideas to increase mobility through work with participation from major employers as well as worker advocates seeking common ground. Previously, he helped build and lead Opportunity Nation, a bipartisan campaign focused on closing the opportunity divide in America. As the campaign’s Managing Director, he led strategy development, worked on policy, served as spokesperson, and regularly presented the Opportunity Index as a tool to drive community change. Additionally, with the non-profit Partnership for Public Service, he built a national outreach campaign aimed at inspiring college students to seek out public service careers. Before that, he planned and implemented student civic education programs, wrote voter education curriculum, and organized on state and national campaigns. Russell is a graduate of Baylor University and earned a Master of Arts in political science at the University of Mississippi.
